Privacy & GDPR
How we treat children's data and photos.
What data we collect
- Accounts: name, email, password (encrypted), role (educator/parent).
- Content: photos, videos, and materials uploaded by educators.
How we use data
Data is used solely to run the platform. We don't sell data and don't use it for advertising.
Cookies
On the signed-in platform we use a minimal set of cookies, strictly necessary for login and forms. On the public marketing site we may use aggregated, privacy-oriented analytics — not advertising. We don't sell data or use marketing cookies.
- Session cookie — keeps you signed in and enables forms. Strictly necessary.
- Security token (XSRF-TOKEN) — protects forms against abuse. Strictly necessary.
- Language preference (site_locale) — remembers the language you choose, for one year. Functional.
On the signed-in platform we only use essential and functional cookies. On the presentation site we collect aggregated statistics with self-hosted Umami (see below), not for advertising. If we introduce other tools that require explicit consent, we will ask in advance.
Statistics on the presentation site
To understand how the public presentation site is used (pages at the root of the domain, not the app at /app), we use Umami — analytics software hosted on our own infrastructure (self-hosted), on our analytics subdomain.
- Presentation site: we may record aggregated visits (e.g. pages viewed, traffic source, general device type). We do not use this data for advertising and we do not sell it.
- MemoryClass platform (/app): we do not load the Umami script in the signed-in application. Your activity in the platform (albums, uploads, classes) is not measured with this tool.
- Statistics stay under our control on our servers, separate from class content (photos, videos, and accounts).
Access & security
Only users invited to a class can see its content. Files are served through temporary links that expire.
Your rights
You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data at any time by writing to our contact address.
Consent for images
Educators are responsible for obtaining parental consent to photograph and publish images of children.
